The fine art paper texture, up close
Mt Robson
After 8 hours on a plane, 10 hours of waiting to pick up the camper van, and 5 more hours on the road, I finally arrive at the foot of the mountain. It is the first majestic landscape of my latest trip to Canada, and it is hiding. When I wake up, everything is clouded in. Not a hint of visibility, just a wall of mist where the peak should stand. I only had 24 hours on site to find my compositions and wait for the window that would let me see it. The vegetation was at its peak: flowers by the thousands, a green of limitless depth. But no summit. Then, for just fifteen minutes, the curtain lifted. The summit appeared, draped in eternal snow, like a reward for the long road behind me. Fifteen minutes of light, for a photograph worth every hour of waiting.
